Sunshine Coast Community Orchestra Association
The Sunshine Coast Community Orchestra Association, a non-profit group and registered charity, is committed to promoting and supporting the development of Sunshine Coast musicians of all ages and abilities. SCCOA is the umbrella organization for the Coast Symphony Orchestra, the Suncoast Concert Band, the Coast Chamber Strings, and the Coast Youth Strings.
The SCCOA was co-founded in 1992 by Michelle Bruce and Tom Kershaw who had an inclusive philosophy to put musicians of all levels together to make great music. Enthusiasm for the music resulted in formation of Concert Band and development ensembles.
All groups rehearse weekly and members' fees are the main financial support of the orchestra's expenses. New members are always welcome.
Player Fees: $160 per half season plus $20 annual membership fee ($340/year).
The SCCOA relies primarily on player fees and donations from both the private and business communities.
